Yesterday was an icey cold day in this part of Virginia and I was napping. A mix of rain and sleet, plus wind and a light coating of snow made sleeping midday pretty cozy.
And I was dreaming.
I dreamed about a little Beagle dog who was crying to enter my house.
She was out in all that frigid weather.
And she was walking right by my window, looking in.
I awoke with a gasp!
And in spite of anticipated pain in my BigFoot from radical fast movements, I quickly got to my feet and actually rushed to the nearest window.
No Beagle.
Was it real, that dream? Was there really a little dog out there begging for a permit to enter?
I was so sure it was real, I actually staggered from window to window peering out and hoping.
But, No Beagle.
Last night I saw once again my Dream Beagle, and this time I let the poor pup in.
I have wanted to adopt a dog for so long now that the dream became an entirely plausible reality.
They say, “Dreams are wish fulfilments.”
I am still checking all around the house for my Dream Beagle.
But a Mutt would be fine too.
Daily Post WordPress Prompt –
Sounds like you need to make a trip to your local humane society/animal control to rescue a beagle. I’m guessing there’s one waiting for you.

I’d say it was a message from God to get your tush to the shelter (bigfoot and all) and adopt a dog!

Aw, I really hope your dream/wish comes true. Studies prove pets improve our health!

He sure is cute…I’d have a hard time not letting him inside. 🙂

Beagles are sweet and beagle puppies are adorable. Why don’t you adopt one?

You are so right but I am afraid to take that step since the BigFoot is still a real problem and Bill would have all the work. Great thought though Dianna. Thank you! 🙂

I’m so afraid BigFoot will fail me…. am in a boot long term and then facing probable surgery. Not a good scenario for adopting a pup.

Thank you Eliza! Me too for dreams coming true but so far it doesn’t seem likely.

I know what you mean Eunice. I have to change the channel when the SPCA shows shivering dogs.

I love it that you love dogs as much as I do.

Oh Cindy, if only I could! Or maybe it should be, “If only I would.” The BigFoot is a true handicap that would leave Bill doing all the clean up and walking. ‘Tis absolutely the wrong timing to adopt. But that doesn’t stop me from wishing a pup will turn up on our doorstep. Hence, the dream.

Great take. Wish you luck on your beagle

Maybe an older dog would be less of a risk to Bigfoot. Of course we love that cute puppy stage but a grown one might be less likely to rush about and trip you up or require a lot of exercise.

Not a pup but perhaps an older, calm dog. Think of it as a therapy dog.

Our hearts’ desires do come through in our dreams. I’ve often heard that’s true. I know how vivid dreams can be. I once dreamed that I was sleeping and my niece stood over my bed trying to awaken me saying, “I need you, Auntie.” I was so convinced it was real that I woke up in a start and wondered where she was. She lived hundreds of miles away, so I called her. And guess what? She DID need someone to talk to that day. Some little beagle doggie out there needs you too, I guess. And BigFoot needs to vacate the premises so you can once enjoy canine company. 🙂

How could you resist one it it appeared as an orphan? Rescues are the best if you are rid of Bigfoot and ready to take on the responsibility.

You are right…. resisting an orphan dog would be impossible. 🙂

Your dream about your niece needing you and then it turning out to be true – what an awesome experience! Yes, strange things can come from dreams Cindy and I fervently hope BigFoot exits enough to allow me to add a dog to our home.

O.k. That’s a good one Kate! I will definitely think of adopting a rescue as a “therapy dog.”

Dor/Dog Cuddles! I wish I could “do it” my friend but BigFoot is not cooperating. Dreams will have to suffice, at least for the time being. 🙂

You are perfectly right of course. An adult pup would be the best thing. Now, If only BigFoot would disappear the decision would be easier.

Beagle is a happy go lucky dog breed. They are easily adaptable to a different environment, a wonderful companion. They are easy to train. Their social nature does extremely well with children and other pets.
