Are You Sleeping Yet?
October 20, 2015 by dorannrule
I keep blogging about our trip to Germany and now beginning to envision
blank faces,
yawns
and vacant stares.
Constant reviews of recently returning tourists can even be sleep inducing.
This will therefore be the last post on my visit to “the old country.”
That is, unless there is something special that must be shared – like a castle built by Mad Ludwig II.

Keep it up, Dorothy! I particularly liked the sign saying no bicycles with so many parked right under it – that really is a sign of the times.

Share what is interesting! Those of us who live vicariously through others will eat it up. Others will pass. All is win-win! It’s a beautiful country.

Uh oh, now I know why you like my blog. It’s a soporific!
I got in an argument with my husband at this castle so it holds a special place in my heart. Did you see the moose head inside from Montana? I would like to see more of Germany, but then, that is just me………..Mad Ludwig’s castle was over the top wasn’t it?

Your blog is NOT soporific! I always tell people about Cindy, my National Geographic photographer friend. π I didn’t see the Montana moosehead inside Ludwig’s castle as we opted to stroll by the swan lake instead. Did I miss much? My brother and sister-in-law went up but seemed to regret it. π

It was funny! The bikes were mostly students’ and their answer to the sign was, “We think the sign meant No Bikes Suspended from the ceiling” since the sign was close to ceiling height. π

It is a storybook castle for sure! π

Thanks John! I will continue with only the most interesting photos left in the pile. The whole trip was like a book of magical fables – something like Las Vegas!

Will do Kate… a few more photos forthcoming. Like I forgot to post the one of a Roman wall foundation and the one of umbrellas marking floodlines on the streets, etc. etc. etc. The beauty of show-and-tell on a blog is I can’t really see the vast silent majority who are nodding off. π

I think Germany has the same kind of allure as England does in terms of it’s very distant past and legends of old.

I don’t think you missed much frankly, although the moose head was a big surprise. I can’t remember the date but it was in the 1880’s maybe? Small world indeed. I want to see more of your photos!!!

I do think you are right John… next up may be a photo of the remnants of Roman rock foundations prevalent in Germany.
