Can you guess what this is?
My middle granddaughter, Kendall, made it with a special tool.
Then she gave the tool to her sister, Jess, for her birthday.
Here is Kendall thinking about her next creation.
But it was Jessica’s birthday! I was going to take a picture of the cake but didn’t get to it in time.
Here is the birthday girl.
We all played scrabble and watched movies and ate a lot.
There was a refrigerator raid.
And some work in the kitchen.
And lots of laughter all round.
Oh what fun! You have a lovely family. I want some cake……..

Looks like a great time was had by all :). Ok, is that maybe an apple peel made into a spiral by the special tool?

Food and family – doesn’t get much better than that! So when do we get to know just what that first photo is? Almost looks like a really long spiral cut red potato!

What? No one guessed? It looks like something she crocheted – like what you’d hang from a hanging lamp. Not a bookmark though.
Looks like all of you had fun – that’s the bestest!

You are almost as bad at guessing as I am MJ! I call it “Vegetable Art” because it’s a spiral (made with a special tool) from a red potato! 🙂 Imagine?

It’s “Vegetable Art” Jill – made from a red potato (with a spiral making gadget demonstrated at a local Walmart).

I cannot believe how brilliant my blogging family is! You are right on Eliza… it’s a spiral cut red potato. My granddaughter was watching a demonstration of the technique and got the gadget for free. 🙂

Blahahaha! Great guess Nancy and it does look like crochet maybe. Actually, it’s what I a now calling “Vegetable Art” – a spiral cut from a red potato. Takes a gadget to achieve that effect. 🙂

No, I never guessed. Did you ever try pealing an apple in one long strip? What games we used to play as children.
btw Your granddaughter and my D2 have the same name.

Yes, now I do remember the challenge of the long curled, unbroken apple strip in days gone by. This potato gadget is probably the brainchild of a kid who did the same thing. 🙂
