An Artistic Birthday Gift

Can you guess what this is?

My middle granddaughter, Kendall, made it with a special tool.

Then she gave the tool to her sister, Jess, for her birthday.

Here is Kendall thinking about her next creation.

But it was Jessica’s birthday! I was going to take a picture of the cake but didn’t get to it in time.

Here is the birthday girl.

We all played scrabble and watched movies and ate a lot.

There was a refrigerator raid.

And some work in the kitchen.

And lots of laughter all round.

You are almost as bad at guessing as I am MJ! I call it “Vegetable Art” because it’s a spiral (made with a special tool) from a red potato! 🙂 Imagine?

I cannot believe how brilliant my blogging family is! You are right on Eliza… it’s a spiral cut red potato. My granddaughter was watching a demonstration of the technique and got the gadget for free. 🙂

Blahahaha! Great guess Nancy and it does look like crochet maybe. Actually, it’s what I a now calling “Vegetable Art” – a spiral cut from a red potato. Takes a gadget to achieve that effect. 🙂

No, I never guessed. Did you ever try pealing an apple in one long strip? What games we used to play as children.

Yes, now I do remember the challenge of the long curled,unbroken apple strip in days gone by. This potato gadget is probably the brainchild of a kid who did the same thing. 🙂
