I believe it is time to sit still.
The holidays are really over and we are already en route through 2015!
I will take the long view now to assess
where I am,
where I may be going,
and what needs to be done
to achieve goals.
I am sitting still though
in the Virginia countryside, and
the only wish I have is for peace and quiet.
And yes,
there is a quiet peace in gazing through the grasses.
I wonder if the wildlife sets goals here too.

A beautiful view through the grass as if you were getting down to the level of the wildlife. Your words are well-chosen for 2015. Perhaps I should take time to reflect as well. Much peace to you, Dor!

I think it’s good to just sit and be for a while. The year is still very new and full of possibilities – of course, anytime is the right time to start over again with whatever you choose.
Does the wildlife set goals? Sometimes I think the squirrels have a goal to see how much they can taunt a Vizsla and get away it! He’s not as fast as he used to be, but once upon a time he caught a squirrel once in a while.

Ah…peace and quiet in the Shenandoah Valley, sounds heavenly, Dor.

Perhaps the squirrel has calculated how to keep your Vizsla young with all the taunting. We had an old dog (Rozie) who caught a ground hog once. She thought she was a mighty hunter. π

A new year for contemplating and setting goals and what better way than to sit still for a spell and just think and enjoy? π

Ooh this resonates with me .. after 16 days off/at home I’m back to work and it’s been great but a whirlwind. This post makes me feel all peaceful, cozy and contemplative π

Sometimes just stopping for a moment helps to regenerate. Everybody says, “slow down,” but I think stopping short is the real secret. π Thanks MJ!

It’s a long way from Crete but I would love it if you come for a visit. π

I think a certain blissful unawareness of anything other than right this very second might be the chief benefit of life as an animal. We humans are the creatures tormented by awareness of our own mortality. It’s good to just shut down a bit and have that moment of quiet peace gazing through the grasses onto the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains.

Thanks Barbara. That unawareness is what I think I was aiming for with the “sit-in” (as Eliza called it). Just thinking about this very second felt like a tonic at the end of a very busy holiday. π
