Okay I am stumped. What in the heck is it?

It was just a city skyline that grabbed me – the big man made crane right next to a struggling tree – both reaching for something in their own ways. I suppose I am stunned by a colorless cityscape since I don’t see much of that in these old hills of the Shenandoah Valley.

Wonderful! A perfect interpretation of the photo, Dor. You made me look at it in a whole new way. Fantastic. And both of us with tree posts today!

What a great juxtaposition of man-made and Mother Nature’s attempts at reaching. I really like this!!!

Thank you Melissa! I wandered rather afar from the usual springtime beauty. Maybe that’s why this photo appealed… I wouldn’t want to get “stuck” in that crane though. 🙂

I was just standing at a railroad station waiting for a friend to arrive when that skyscape begged to be photographed. Big city stuff to a small town countrified “girl.” Thanks for “getting it” Barbara.

As you envision Man’s effort alongside Nature’s merely ‘being’, something that you have captured so starkly in your photograph, what thoughts come to you?

The clouds, lighting–and general “grayness” of the photo make it very intriguing and artistic.

Isn’t it interesting when we’re taken by a photograph? And how different folks can be taken by different photos? How they all speak to us and illuminate different stories…

Thank you for visiting my blog Shakti. My thoughts when I took that stark photograph were of the encroachment of man and machines over nature. And what a shame that is.

Thanks for that Sheryl. I was afraid it was almost too stark in sharp contrast to my usual “country” views. 🙂

Yes, it’s all in the perspective I think. I don’t particularly like this photo but there was something about it that made me gulp.
