Do you get the feeling March is laughing at us?
Did we ever actually lounge in a summer sun?
March brought another storm today and smugly dumped a brand new blanket
to taunt us shivering souls with memories of a mythical time of dreams.
Remember when we donned shorts and flip flops, bathing suits, and tanning gel
and basked in the warming rays of the sun?
But what good is a wallapalooza snow storm without complaining? A cup of hot chocolate can only go so far.
Because the memories grow stronger now about lazy summer days of poolside slumber, sun glasses, tan lines, red polished toes, birds singing, and soft warm summer breezes. Was there ever such a time? And will there ever be again?
But of course this is a Friday in March and it’s another snow day in Virginia’s beautiful Shenandoah Valley. No time for summer memories. Snow shovels await.
And tonight it is supposed to get down to 8 degrees!
I’m losing my sense of humor over all this. I’ll just keep repeating “at least it’s not Massachusetts.” Sheesh.

Wishing you many warm thoughts while you deal with the snow!!! You need to visit your family in So Cal. It is warming up here.

Wow, look at all your snow! I take it this is highly unusual for your typical March? I know 8 degrees is! Crazy winter, to be sure. It will get better soon, I hope!

I was watching the news last week and they were talking about snow in 30 some states in the USA! Fortunately southern AZ wasn’t one of them, which is where I am right now! I’m not even tempted to check what the weather is like back home in Alberta!

It’s pretty, but I’m not giving up hope of spring. In fact, I’m even more adamant about it to hurry up and get here! So far we’ve been spared the snow this time around–but the sleet/wind/ice isn’t going to be much fun.

It won’t be long and we’ll all be complaining about the heat and humidity!!

Keep asking you to come visit here – although today March played a trick on us. After weeks of brilliant sunshine today it rained for an hour. How we needed the rain because much of the country is in drought conditions, but we really welcomed the sun again when it returned. 🙂

WOW !! I have never seen so much snow Dora not even in mountainous Wales I guess you have heating so can keep warm but I feel sorry for the birds and other animals. That deer looks as though he’s waiting for you to throw out some scraps. I sure hope summer is well on its way to you enough is enough !!

I feel like summer will never come, but I keep holding onto the memories of laying on my deck with the sun shining down and the heat soaking into my skin. It has to come eventually doesn’t it?? Please tell me yes! We’re still under extreme cold warnings here, but the weatherman on the TV did say that we might actually get some above zero temperatures next week. It’s incredible how excited I got about 8C (46F). I was ready to dig out the shorts and tank tops!!!

I can’t remember sweating either. Was I ever warm?

Lucky you to be in Arizona during the long hard USA winter. We escaped it until just recently but nature’s getting even now. 🙂

Yes, ice is the worst. Even with 4 wheel drive, Bill says there’s nothing you can do about ice. Never mind spring (although I love it). Bring on a summer heat wave! 🙂

A visit there would be glorious Judith! Thanks, but I’m afraid we are snowbound. 🙂

How true! Enough is definitely enough. And I don’t even have grounds for legitimate complaint. Other parts of the U.S. have been hit much much harder. Kentucky had over 20 inches of snow fall in just one night and hundreds of motorists were stranded on highways for 12 or more hours. Imagine?

Looking forward to above zero temps? Huh? I think you should move down here or to Florida for the winters! And here I am crying over 5 or 6 inches of the white stuff and 8 degrees Fahrenheit this morning. “All things are relative” I guess but we are the same in our wishes for sunshine and roses. 🙂

Now that you mention it, I can’t remember sweating either! This is a sad state of affairs.

We’re going to need a heat wave to thaw out after this winter!

Same here…repeat…same here…repeat….oh, am I repeating myself just like March is repeating February?? Silly month, doesn’t it know it’s supposed to be spring-like? Wishing and hoping right along with you, Dor.
