ROZIE REPORT
Our big old dog, Rozie, is still fighting for her life. She was big at 103 pounds when we started. She is no longer big however. I can’t believe Rozie has lost 19 pounds in about six weeks!
Bill says, “Good thing she was overweight to begin with. If she had been the right weight, she would now be emaciated.”
He said that a week ago.
Actually Rozie was looking rather handsome then, at her new svelt 89 pounds.
That was until she lost five more and is now 84 pounds.
And now we can feel her ribs and shoulder bones.
She simply refuses to eat, even with appetite stimulants and coaxing with all the goodies of her previous life.
She is also getting weaker.
Bill and I have been up and down and all around trying to help her recover from an infection that set in after she had an abscessed tooth removed. Her appetite disappeared along with the tooth.
Today she met the vet again, who realized there is another questionable tooth in there, so we left her for another extraction. He thinks this may do the trick and that we will see a dramatic improvement in a few days.
Keep your fingers crossed for good old Rozie. She really is a sweetheart and we are hoping for the best.
Now Rozie’s stress has rubbed off on me, so I am losing my appetite too and have lost two pounds in six weeks.
I can’t feel any ribs yet though and my shoulders and other more prominent areas are still well padded.
I have a cat that is dying now, and i feel your pain. My sympathy to you.

I’m hoping for the best for old Rozie. We had a big yellow lab, and we know what it is to love a dog, so hope that second extraction does the trick. Wish my appetite wasn’t so good, by the way.

Awe ! Poor Rozie. Its always sad when animals are ill they can’t tell us what is wrong except just look at us with sad eyes and then you realize something is amiss. Its only natural that you feel Rozie’s aches as you are so close to her. This is something I am dreading because our dog Ben has a heart problem and its just a matter of time. Anyway I hope Rozie will be o.k. after the next tooth extraction. Take care yourself Dora.

Aw, poor Rozie. Hope this does the trick and she’s on the mend soon. Our cat recently tangled with a skunk and….you guessed it. Even after two de-skunking baths, she still smells. That’s another way to lose your appetite! 😉

Things are just a bit more hopeful this morning. Maybe she will go on. The vet says she is close to 100 years old in human years. Imagine?

Eat properly? No worries about that. Some people eat to live. I live to eat! BTW, Rozie drank a cup of goat’s milk this morning! 🙂

Oh, my – I will be praying that the extraction of the other tooth does the trick. It actually makes sense. No one – dog or person – can eat normally with a terrible toothache. Please keep me posted, or all of us! Love ya, Julie

OH honey I am so sad she has been suffering so badly unable to do anything you wanted and no way of really telling you 😦 Dogs like people can live with no teeth they just gobble wet food then 🙂
Hell of a way to loose weight 😦 for you or her.
I just found the source for JT’s groans as she lays down some kind of growth or injury I hate being poor even more now 😦
I will see if they can take payments to pay for cat scan
Keeping you all in my prayers HUGS
