I never tire of the sweeping view, especially whilst cooking and standing at the kitchen window.
How blessed we are to have found this place and recognized it as home.
Thirty-two years ago I would hum happily en route to this 20 acre plot where there was no home yet . It was a place in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia where we could imagine a future.
The land stayed unspoiled. The house Bill designed sustained us.
And “the future is now.”
How marvelous that your dream came true! I didn’t know Bill designed the house. No wonder you love it so! Your view is spectacular. Thanks for sharing it.

Oh no! What happened to Koko? I am so sorry. Losing a beloved dog is tantamount to losing a family member. I am crying for you and I am crying with you. Our Elsa now wants to sleep with us and I have been pushing her away… now feeling guilty.

Thanks for your thoughts Dora,Koko had Leishminiosis decease when we first adopted him so was on medication all his life. He was about 18months old when we rescued him he lived for just 8 years. I am going to put a post on my blog all about him when I feel up to it which will explain more. O.K. He was suffering so of course the Vet told us to make a decision which was heart wrenching. Yes Dora spend as much time as you have with Elsa.

I so admire your view. And isn’t it wonderful that you have such a place you call home? I feel the same way about our little house in the woods.

You are a kindred spirit with your house in the woods stories of how much you love it there. Home is where you know you belong and where you feel the happiest. How lucky we are to have found the places we belong.
