Although we have had a few tooth-chattering days here in Camelot, it still somehow feels like summer. I have almost forgotten that Virginia has a temperate climate but still boasts the four seasons.
But here it comes January and I never finished retrieving winter clothes and never packed away bathing suit or shorts. First of all, it stayed warm enough for cooler garb than sweaters.
And for a true weather guage there is always my curly-er and frizzy-er hair which usually only happens during the muggy days of summer. I suppose winter frizz is due to a mountain version of seaside dampness. Who knew?
And those lazy hazy days are here again and I am sweating (not whistling) while I work.
This sleeping beauty is also doing a bit more tossing and turning on over heated body-warmed sheets.
This morning there was a summer-like drizzly rain with no coat necessary – just short sleeves for dog walking.
The stink bugs are happy and back in plague mode too, accompanied by a competitive lady bug infestation.
I am confused. Should I switch the heatpump to “cool”? Should we re-open the outdoor pool?
Feeling a chill where you are? Virginia may be just the place to go for the excitement of an off-season-summer.
We’ve had spring-like weather for a few days in the mountains. We also had a white Christmas — fog and mist as white as snow.

It’s weird here at the beach too. One day it’s a balmy beach walk and the next it’s heavy coat and ski cap walk.

We’ve had very unseason-like (is that even a word????) weather too. Winter came for a few days then left, but I suspect it will be back again soon in full force. Hoping you had a nice Christmas despite the sweating. 😉

We are happily enjoying a rather warm spell here on Kiawah as well Dor. Since I hate cold, it’s just fine with me! If it stays this way all winter you’ll get no complaint from me 😊. All the best to you and yours in 2020

I like the way you put things Eliza – “weather weirding” – has just the right ring to it to describe things lately. 🙂

They had torrential rain in Phoenix, Arizona too for Christmas. Weather seems a bit capricious lately no matter where you may roam.

What interesting weather! We are just above freezing here, but it has been well below that for weeks. The true test of winter will come from January to April – if we get as much snow as we have had since September, it should set a few near records!

Here in Texas, we’re accustomed to roller-coaster winters, and this year’s no exception. We had some lovely warm days last week, but now we’re right back to where we should be: low 60s in the day, and upper 30s or low 40s at night. However: January is coming, and it may bring “real” winter with it for the new year. Happy New Year to you!

Yes, tis “roller coaster” weather for sure. As the locals here say, “If you don’t like the weather here, wait a minute.”
