Elsa Here a Year
Has it been a whole year since we brought Elsa home to our little house in Virginia? I realize now how terrified she was that day and for many after. We think she was abused in her other life/lives because she used to flinch when we tried to pat her head. She is still frightened of raised voices or fast movements.
But Elsa feels at home now and she looks calm and contemplative. I somehow know she is happy.
Me too.

Thank you Mary Ellen!
I’m sure you have noticed a huge change in her. At last, she is a happy dog even if she still has anxious moments.

Congratulations, Dor. You made it through the first year with Elsa. I’m sure she is happy and quite adjusted to you and your home. What a kindness you did by adopting her and giving her some stability.

She looks like a happy dog. And I love the towel.

She has to be one happy pup living with you two. And I bet she’s counting her lucky stars. A friend of mine has had a rescue dog for many years now who was also abused and that doggy still gets scared and runs and hides from loud noises/people who move too fast/etc.

It’s so sad to think that someone would abuse a sweet puppy. So glad that she won the lottery with you!

Lovely picture! I think that one of the key to happiness is to have a dog in the house. I have written an article on my blog recently titled ‘The Art of Living from a Dog’s perspective” – https://authorjoannereed.net/the-art-of-living-from-a-dogs-perspective/ – Feel free to check it out!

Hi Dor! I am just catching up on my reading and enjoyed seeing your blog on Elsa. She’s lovely and I KNOW she’s happy with you and Bill. As I’ve said many times before, she chose you, and knows she won the lottery with you!
