I never tire of the views from this little house in rural Virginia.
And even now, after so many years and so many pictures, there are still moments when I feel compelled once again to try to capture the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The Blue Ridge is sometimes shrouded in mist or covered in snow, or blue against the sky, or blanketed in fog, and always stunning.
The snow was clearing a few days ago here in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
And it was one of those days when I simply had to get one more picture.
Beautiful.

There is nothing else like the Blue Ridge! I love your views. How can you remember scenes if you don’t take photos??

It always surprises me when something that surely is cold looks so warm and inviting.

We haven’t had a “proper” snow yet here in southeastern PA. Our last “storm” turned to rain so at the end you could see the grass through the snow cover. I’m ok with not a lot of snow but perhaps one that gave a Currier and Ives effect for a few days would be nice. Then I’d like the sun to come out and take it all away (instead of leaving us with dirty snowpiles). Great shot.

I’m of the same compellingness (my word) of sunsets here on the Eastern Shore. Heads its water, tails its mountains. We are both so fortunate.

Are you frozen? We think it is terribly cold here at 16 degrees tonight.

It’s at 1 degree this morning. I can’t really tell the difference between 1 and the 9 it was last night. I am not frozen but my function today was cancelled. I was glad. This is the weather of dead batteries.
