Nightfall – Winter Storm Diego 2018
It was predicted to be One Inch of Snow!
Turned out to be over a foot!
We never lost power but it was this December’s Winter Storm Diego that dumped a whole lot of snow on our rural Virginia paradise.
We were curious about Elsa’s reaction!
Elsa is the new rescue dog and we are still trying to understand her past, her story, and how she feels about things.
How would The Little Dude react to deepening snow?
Turns out that Elsa thinks snow is somethig to eat.
And she is not intimidated by the white stuff piling up over her head either! She will go anywhere until she gets cold and goes home.
I am from Florida and saw snow first at the age of 21. Ho Hum right?
Snow?
Ridiculous but this Florida girl raised on a beach is still excited every time the first flake arrives here in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia – and I still marvel at the immense beauty of nature shrouded in white.

Snow!!!!????
I was raised in western Pennsylvania where winter and snow go hand in hand, and guess what? I still get excited when I see the first snow flakes! Glad Elsa likes the snow too. 🙂

This storm missed us up here in Pennsylvania (and we are grateful for that!). Enjoy your snow!

After having lived my entire life in CT, except for a four year hiatus in Jacksonville, seeing snow again is a joy.

I share your enthusiasm, Dor. I grew up in West Tennessee, and we didn’t see snow nearly often enough. My favorite thing to do is sit and watch the flakes fall. Walking in falling snow is also desirable. Even shoveling was fun in New York! In NC, it’s a race to see if you can shovel before all the snow melts. John won the race yesterday. Our second breath of snow has now ended. Happy snow!!!

That’s a lotta snow! Hope Bill has help with the shoveling. Good excuse to stay home and wait for it to melt. 😉

We are all snow lovers it seems and that is probably why people love snow globes so much.

The sun came out today but there is so much snow, the melt was minor. I did a bit of shovelling and Elsa tried to help by digging into snow banks and eating the stuff. 🙂

We are slowly digging out but there are freezing temps tonight so the roads will be frozen slick by morning.

How exciting for you – though I can’t say I am unhappy to have finally left our Alberta winter behind and settled in Arizona for a few months…

It would have been fun to watch Elsa cavort in the snow. Too bad John doesn’t live next door, because he would have been glad to help you shovel.

…..Glad you’re OK with and in the snow! Lil Elsa is so cute – is she looking at someone holding a cookie, perhaps?
Michigan – no snow as of right now .. 40F and rain — weird!

Might be a bit more than an inch!

Turned out to be 16 inches of snow that was entirely unexpected. The best part was we didn’t lose power and everything melted within 2 days.

Oh bless. I hope Elsa enjoyed in it as well as eating it 🙂
