Bill, Dor and Friends at the Sheridan Livery Inn, Lexington, Virginia New Year’s Eve 2017
There was something wondrous about this incoming new year.
It was safe here in Virginia among friends,
sharing good food and big grins in
a place where pain was on hold
and the appetizer was hilarity.
And by the time we left we were pretty near
collapsing with laughter from all the teasing and jokes.
Then we watched a movie at home by the fire and
managed to stay awake to greet 2018.
There is something wondrous about
an incoming new year in cyberspace too,
where sweet friends also share
life’s appetizers and laughter.
Happy New Year my friends.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Happy New Year!

Sounds like you had the kind of NY eve I had.. just a few friends, good conversation, laid back. I think big parties are a thing of the past for me. I loved my New Years eve as well. Happy New Year Dorann. I agree with your statement about blogging friends. You included.

Happy New Year to you! I’m filled with admiration that you managed to stay up until midnight — not me. I enjoyed seeing the photo of you and your friends. It seems to have disappeared now, but it may come back. Who knows how these things work? In any event you clearly were having a good time, just as you wrote.

I couldn’t see it either tonight. Have tried to put the picture back in though. Sometimes I wonder about “technological progress.”

Hope you fared well in the NorEaster! What a whopper of a storm Grayson was/is, thought we didn’t get anything but frigid temps and wind.

We don’t always make it to midnight. In fact, most years, our friend (who shall remain nameless) falls asleep in the first ten minutes of the movie!

A lot of wind here Mary, and frigid temps, but sunshine during the days and absolutely no snow. Hope you fare well too and Happy New Year my talented friend.

We knew this when the realtor told us it only rains here at night since we are surrounded by two mountain ranges and this is Brigadoon! ha! 🙂
