I don’t usually like sudden change.
But some changes are forever amazing.
Overnight a giant Red Maple that has never been red,
turned a brilliant shimmering gold.
Why, it was green yesterday. I know it was green.
But there she is quietly shouting,
Bet it will soon be red. I am loving being in the states in the fall. I haven’t seen leaves turn in more than 20 years.

You can’t say she didn’t warn you. Look at that colorful little fringe at the very top. She clearly was pondering: should I, or shouldn’t I? Is it time?
Apparently, it was!

Beautiful … Since not living in Canada anymore I have really missed the change of seasons and the colors and even the birds (blue jays, red robins, etc.)….I even miss the first snowfall. In Las Vegas, we do have the desert warmth but boy, would I love to see lakes, oceans, beautiful forestry again.

I know the feeling having been raised in Florida. Fall is still enchanting to me even all these years later.

You do have a discerning eye shoreacres. I did notice the little gold fringe but just thought it was an aberration.

Thank you Kit! I do love the autumn with that crisp air and a surge of energy and the beautiful colors. It is especially nice out here in the country watching all the critters scurrying around to get ready for harder times. Come for a visit to get a taste of fall and we can catch up on our lives.

Beautiful photos. I missed being outdoors when the leaves were turning because of severe allergies. Thanks for sharing with those of us who were homebound.
