I never tire of the view from our kitchen window here in rural Virginia.

This dawn foretold an oncoming rain storm

and a rainbow that was another missed photo-op.

I ran to find our own rainbow this morning. I’m looking at snow falling on the mountain this afternoon. The weather forecast shows snow coming and being rebuffed by the mountain. That stalwart mountain will hold snow at bay for HOURS. The web cam has a photo of white on the ground up high.

At least once a year we make the 30 mile trek to the ocean at Asateague on Maryland’s Eastern Shore for a sunrise over the water. We get to do the sunsets over water in our backyard which is much appreciated. We do miss those background mountains though. A great picture, thanks for sharing.

I know what you mean about the mountains Anne. We were told we live in Brigadoon since we are between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Alleghenies and it only rains here at night. Protected by the mountain ranges you know. Ha! There is no doubt big storms make it over those peaks but I must say our winter has been extremely mild.
