It’s Friday again in Virginia!
I vowed to send off an events diary every week for your reading pleasure
and to share my own life in capsule form.
But I am failing to meet the challenge.
My life has been a panorama of dedication to routines and commitments.
Time to let go right and make some serious life changes?
I’m washing today and it’s FRIDAY!
You aren’t alone: I’ve done two loads of laundry today! But I did adhere to the “clean on Friday”: did some of that, too. Happy weekend, Dor!!

John does our laundry! He began after my knee replacements when I couldn’t carry things on the stairs. Bless him, he continued after we moved.

Dor… You are such a rebel. 😉 Predictability is overrated…
Scramble that schedule and keep everyone around you on their toes.

Ha, I wash at least every other day, but then, nowadays we have a lot more clothes than they did back then. Two work-a-day outfits and one for Sunday. Can you imagine that?

When I was young I hated wash day because of the steamy smell along with the smell of stew cooking, which was MONDAY. I don’t mind now because I don’t do it, the washing machine does. I used to keep to a routine with all other household chores i.e. as your post. Now I do it when I feel like it Around twice a week everything gets a good spit and polish. Enjoy your weekend Dora and have a rest !!

I did a load of laundry today, too. I love the old days of the week ditty–but I definitely don’t follow it. 🙂

Actually I rather enjoy wash day. And I even like ironing. Is there something wrong here?

I am afraid I would never survive the list of chores from days gone by. Imagine having to churn your own butter! We do have it good with washing machines and gadgets to take the place of hard labor. Wonder what will come next.

Good thing too Sheryl – churning butter, although mindless for daydreaming, might be hard on our arms. 🙂

Oh, dear, you like ironing? No hope for you! 😉 Actually, my mom found it meditative. Although, when permanent press was invented, she thought that was pretty amazing.

Vacuuming is even better because the results are so satisfying – much like raking leaves or mowing the lawn. Who am I kidding?

I would be endlessly happy to give all those jobs over to someone else – lol!
