Big Foot returned after several weeks of ordinary shoes and attempts to increase walking. This time it feels like stepping on a nail. So the Big Boot is back. I never thought I would be glad to see it again, but it’s like an old friend now. Another appointment scheduled with the foot man, but I now accept this on and off stuff will continue until there is a complete healing.

We have had some “wild and wooly” Virginia weather this week. My Mom always used to say that about wild and wooly things. One night the wind was so strong it took shingles off my friend’s house and the power went off in the middle of the night. At 6 AM I retrieved the number for the power company to report the outage and just as I picked up the phone, the lights came back. Magic!
-
Then things settled down for a sunshiney beautiful day. Lovely. Except there was another outage. Too bad the lights went off at dinner time so I couldn’t cook!
Ha!Sigh. Friends came over for laughs and even though the power was restored between drinks, we all went out to dinner. Magic!
-
And then the wicked winds and blowing rains returned, along with patches of intense sunshine, and there were rainbows – double rainbows and one so big and bright I thought we were in the land of Oz! Magic.
It has been a wild and wooly week for sure – mostly due to wild and wooly weather patterns. I keep humming a song from the earlier days. I hum silently of course since I can’t carry a tune and people run out of the room. But I am humming the tune to April Showers, as sung by Bing Crosby and give thanks for the magic of a beautiful Spring. Also hoping the next power outage is around dinner time!
Though April showers may come your way
They bring the flowers that bloom in May
So if it’s rainin’ have no regrets
Because it isn’t rainin’ rain, you know
It’s raining violets
And where you see clouds upon the hills
You soon will see crowds of daffodils
So keep on looking for a blue bird
And listening for his song
Whenever April showers come along
A magical post and wondrous photos! I have never seen a rainbow as brilliant as yours.

Is it gout? I know you told us before but I seem to have lost my memory for such things–including where I put the keys, my glasses, my passport, and the main street of my town!

Thanks for asking Judy. My BigFoot is the result of “bone marrow edema”, which is something athletes get from running too many marathons! I like to tell people that, but in my case the dr. says it is just a fluke -a one time aberration that will eventually right itself. 🙂

Oh, I couldn’t get my own photo of that rainbow Anne…. it was in a “free stock” selection. I will try to find it again and write the credits. Our rainbow was that brilliant though. In fact, there were two at once and lots of my friends got great photos. I was just not in the right place.

Phew. Glad to hear that. I’d hate to think of your marathon career ending. Too cruel.

So sorry about your foot. You have to get rid of those 5″ heels you have! We have had wonky weather here too. Snowing just now. Wreaking havoc on farmers and fruit growers. Mother Nature does need her meds and we need some normal!

An exciting week – showers, rainbows, wind and power outages. The best part was dinner out! 😉
Hope your foot feels better and thanks for sharing the Bing tune while I wait for my daffodils and vio-lets!

Strange weather for sure. My friend had snow at her house (near Disputanta) this morning – then saw a hummingbird at the feeder this afternoon!

Supposed to get down in the 20’s tonight! I’m glad I didn’t plant any flowers yet.

The 5″ heels are long gone – and recently the 2″ – glamour has gone out with balance too. 🙂 Good luck with the snow in your part of the world. It will be in the 20’s here tonight. Very very weird.

Looks like your weather is “wonky” there too and that will make the real spring flowers all the more welcome. Many thanks Eliza for your good wishes re the Big Foot. It’s an everlastingly boring annoyance.

Wild and wooly here too. Those April showers (thanks, now I’ll be singing that song all day long!) brought not only rain and wind to us but…are you ready?…SNOW! Two days in a row we woke up to snow on the ground. In April. A couple of inches Saturday morning. What in the world? I saw a funny photo on Facebook of the snow with these words: “Spring, you are drunk!” Ha! P.S. Sorry about Big Foot’s return. 😦

Snow!!!???? Well, I guess we got a few flurries here but this A.M. I am re-storing candles and flashlights to their proper hidden places. I figure Spring has sprung even though winter keeps trying to return.

Total optimist Dorann – love it, the magic seems to follow you. Sorry to read about your foot – wish they could give you a “magic” potion and have it permanently go away. Don’t you love those April showers – we are having our share this year. Take care and hope you have a wonderful week.

I love that you love spring, Dor! All I have here are the singing of birds in the early morning, and we’ve had a wet spell of rain and even some flooding on the island.
