Some of my favorite bloggers are consistent about posting the events of the week and I can never come up with anything much to write about. Here’s another try though, since this week was fairly busy.
I hit the gym on Monday!
I know that conjures up images of treadmills and weight lifting, but can we please count “Chair Yoga?” What is Chair Yoga? Well, it’s yoga done mostly sitting or holding onto a chair. I know that makes me sound on the decrepit side, but it’s a beginning for final recuperation of the BigFoot.
I have forgotten Tuesday;
except I think we had dinner at the Pink Cadillac with good friends. The rest of the day was spent elevating the BigFoot to recuperate from the gym.
Midweek featured a monthly outing with my friend, Norma,
only this time our outing was in town (Lexington, Virginia). We stopped at Southern Girls, a wonderful decorating and design shop that makes me want to trash everything in the house and start over.
We also stopped by The Stitchin Post to pick up some yarn! I am a novice crochet-er even though I have been crochet-ing since early childhood. Never really learned to read patterns, but finally found one that yields “curly scarves” that everyone seems to like. My dental hygienist (Chancee – isn’t that a beautiful name?) said she would like to have one of those curly scarves so she will have it when I go for teeth cleaning in April.
Today I hit the gym again but skipped the barbells of course.
And that my friends, constitutes a pretty full week – at least for this old country gal.
I love the town of Lexington. It has the best shops! Love purchasing pottery there. If you have not attended a production at the lime kiln, you must. It’s been years, but loved it. http://www.limekilntheater.org/

Busy week here too. I’ve been hitting the books! (Substitute teaching) Didn’t have time at all to blog last week and barely did any this week either.

Thanks Suzicate. I used to help publicize the Lime Kiln. It is a wonderful magical venue.

You are doing something so worthwhile! 🙂

You had me scared there for a minute. Thought you’d jumped the curb and drove your car into the the gym. Still, excessing on purpose seems a little over the top – even if your were sitting down. 😉

Still recuperating from big foot? Chair yoga sounds like my speed.

I think chair yoga is a perfect way to get exercise with the Big Foot. I love my yoga class. 🙂

Hahaha! I did “hit the gym” and excessed a bit sitting down. Put that way, the whole experience was wounding. 🙂

I am told that total healing of the Big Foot can take months (and sometimes even years) – very frustrating. The swelling is down but not out, so I am still “babying” it.

I like your busy week Dorann – exercising and being with good friends. Does this picture get any better?

Chair Yoga is surprisingly wonderful and not as easy at it sounds. Kudos for working out the mind, body & soul this week.

“I have forgotten Tuesday” – ha ha ha! Laughed so hard at that. Good for you for working out BigFoot. My foot took a long time to heal from surgery, so just know it might be a bit wonky for a time 🙂 MJ

You did pretty good I thought Dora !. My exercise consists of sitting and turning my ankles around and around as I sprained both of them badly some years ago. That’s beside walking the dog of course. Love the fact you attend the Gym even if its only using a chair.

This is so encouraging MJ. I get discouraged when a little swelling returns and begin to think the BigFoot will never really heal. The boot goes back on and I return to rational thought and know that it will all just take time. 🙂

Walking the dog is the best! You probably don’t need much more than that Rita and how I wish we had a dog too.

You are doing great, yes, it does take time but if you’re like me, waiting is the worst!!

Maybe when the Big Foot is better you can consider having a dog.

Oh wouldn’t that be a dream come true…..

I haven’t done very well with randoms lately. Usually I think of something that I’d like to include, but if I don’t write it down, it’s gone by the time I get ready to compose the post! I need to go back to keeping a journal, then I’ll have a reminder of what I did that week.

Yes, a journal might really help. I will try that too! Thanks Patti. 🙂
