I know it’s only Wednesday – maybe too soon for Random Randoms, but this half of the week is special!
First, the snow came – and finally went.
And then we had a sweet doggy visitor overnight.
This pup now thinks we are Camp Pichu (Pichu is his name) and we are the solicitous counselors. He fits right in and we love him.
And finally, my Big Foot (although still nominally big) can be sans the big ßoot for short periods of time.
In fact, my podiatrist says not to come back just to tell him things are looking good. Things ARE looking good and I’m done with the foot doctor! I must admit I will miss him, but he says to let pain be my guide now and continue to wear the boot at my own discretion!
I am so happy even though it is raining “cats and dogs” outside.
I am delighted not only for freedom of life and limb (a bootless life and a painless limb), but for sweet visitors, and emerging grass for foraging deer,
And because I just learned my foot malady
is common and more commonly found in ATHLETES (not old ladies)!
And now I can say, “I must have contracted Bone Marrow Edema from extensive running in marathons!”
Look closely and you may find me in this bunch!
more common in athletes? Umm, have you been running marathons and not telling anyone? Secret life there you need to admit to? 🙂
Glad to hear your foot is on the mend.

Pichu is such a handsome fella, Dor. Well, I’m happy to hear you’re done with the foot doctor. I can’t find you!

Noone has ever probed the very depths of my capabilities Andrew. Marathon running is only the beginning of my many physical goals for achievement sans BigFootBoot. Must admit I’m best at Chair Yoga though, where I don’t have to leave the chair. 🙂

Yep. The foot dr. dismissed me. This is joyful news even though I feel out here in limbo with full responsibility for my own mobility. Sigh. 🙂

Thanks Rita! I am wearing two real shoes now for an hour or so – to see if the foot hurts. So far, so good, but I haven’t left the chair yet to walk around. 🙂 It’s a bitter pill to be responsible for your own decisions to walk sans boot or not to walk. 🙂

Congratulations on ditching Big Foot! I hope all goes well and you don’t have to see your “foot” doctor any time soon. I think I see you in the pink socks!

I wish I could tell people that my injury’s are from running in too many marathons, that would be a good day.

Being a foot surgery survivor I COMPLETELY relate to the unbridled joy that accompanies the news that the BIG A** BOOT can be retired unless in DIRE circumstances … makes you want to form a conga line, doesn’t it? 🙂 ** Oh Happy Day ** MJ

Running marathons, huh? “The Secret Life of Dor” sounds like it could be your next short story. I am SO GLAD to hear Big Foot is no longer Big Boot! Yay for you! P.S. I think you’re the one with the bright pink socks in that marathon photo. 😉

That reminds me of the time my daughter got a bit of a bug wing in her eye and the doctor said “You must spend a lot of time outside.” I about fell off my chair laughing! I am sure you had a chuckle at the idea that your problem came from too much running!

I made that up about running in marathons… I can’t really remember when I last ran anywhere. It’s just nice to be able to say I have an athlete’s malady. Maybe I could even say I got hurt skiing!? 😦

This is wonderful news! No wonder you couldn’t wait for Friday to share it! I like the pretty little flower cart and pink snow shovel. I’m afraid if we had a pink one, I’d have to shovel the snow. We got a lot of rain, too. Lucky you, got to keep one of the dogs overnight! LOL

Thanks Patti! I am a “happy camper” about the progress on the foot. Never thought of the snow shovel as pink. Actually, it was red once a long time ago but has been used for so long it faded to pink! 🙂 So goes my life too only I am fading to gray. 🙂

We’ve earned our gray! LOL It’s funny how we “see” things. Our daughter still envisions her dad with dark hair, but the grandkids have only seen it white.
