It is deer hunting season here in Virginia but our little “reserve” is reserved for wildlife to keep on living.
I know this is controversial since deer populations are exploding and hunting is a way to exercise control.
But just look at this sweet young buck I surprised on my way to town. See his little antlers?
He seems to be asking, “Who are you?”
And, “What should I do?”
Stick around little guy. You are safe here.
What a sweetie!

Aw, sweet post, Dor. I know that hunting is necessary, but I don’t like it and could never, ever kill anything so beautiful.

They are so cute and if we had them here I would be feeding them and most likely make pets of them also giving them names. I hate to think at some stage they will be shot. Yours is such a little beauty, he likes you Dora.

He is too young to know that humans represent danger, but they learn quickly. Even after all these years though, I still get a thrill out of seeing deer so close.
