Nice tree, must be 200 years old. The stories it could tell… 🙂

Thanks John! I do believe you are right about how old that tree is, and I too wonder who planted it, and who sat under it and all the tales that could be told.

I think it did speak to me briefly Jill. I need to go back for a longer visit. 🙂

Ah, I want that glorious old tree in MY yard. My trees are less than 15 years old and they are still too small for my taste.

The only great big wonderful tree we had was about 25 years old when lightning struck, and then struck again and now there is a sun garden instead. I miss that big old tree though.

I take that BACK. There is a Red Maple that is thriving and we planted it 26 years ago. It’s on a slope so difficult to sit under though.

Love the tree trunk – all craggy, with peeling bark. Strength and yet a quiet presence of time.
