I absolutely love the look of the weeping willows! But I have been told they do best when planted by water…lakes, ponds, rivers, etc. If planted too close to a house, their roots might grow outwards in search of water and find their way into pipes and plumbing below ground. So instead of a willow, I planted a river birch tree. 🙂

Willows are my favorite. Most people don’t plant because they are dirty and huge. I just see the beauty.

Oh, Dor…the Weeping Willow is my favorite too! I remember as a child, we had a huge one in our yard. It was wonderful!

Weeping Willows have always been my favorite tree, only wish I had one!

Smart move planting the river birch. We tried a weeping willow that didn’t make it for lack of water source. I do love them though and wish we had a lake or a pond nearby.

I see the same thing Kate, in the tree and I suppose in my husband too even though he’s not dirty or even huge. 🙂

How lucky you were to have a weeping willow in your yard Jill! I can just imagine the games that went on beneath its cover. 🙂

I love weeping willows. As a child, I used to hide under them (along with the elves and fairies who lived there.) Lovely photo.

I love planting willows in more low lying areas of a landscape, they are such beautiful trees.

I can see why – this is beautiful Dorann. Besides the lovely greens, I see shades of blue too – wonderful favorite tree!

I have never been under a weeping willow but some day I hope to join the elves and fairies who live there. Thanks Barb for your sweet imagination.

Oh Charlie, if only I had some low lying areas in my landscape I would do the same but we are on top of a hill.

Yes, this tree is like a soft rain of delicate leaves that cast the most inviting shade.

I love willow trees – always have. Imagine sitting on a patio swing chair under an elegant willow tree by a body of water. It’s quiet lazy summer afternoon and you hear the birds in the leaves. Ahhh, I can feel all my troubles just flow away. Right?

Only you can paint a vivid picture with words – maybe better than a painting! 🙂 Thanks Kate. That’s exactly how I feel just looking at a weeping willow. 🙂
