I went for a walk today to see the melting. Birds and deer and turkey were all happily hunting for the sustenance that disappeared the day before. It was a snowy world now rapidly disappearing with the advent of the sun. In some places the snow lingers, and even though I will be delighted to see it all go, it still outlines my world with gallant touches of glamour.
Your photo makes me yearn for snow. Crazy, I know. I’d be fed up with the bitter cold and the length of winter in no time flat. But it is a beautiful sight. Thanks for sharing, Dor. 😉

BEAUTIFUL! We’ve had a couple of evenings and mornings in the upper 60’s here. No heaters in our homes! That’s COLD for us, especially with strong winds! – Liz

Thank you Eliza. Spring is definitely springing and is being urged along by us wishful thinkers. I do love it out here for the lovely scenery and have never tired of it in now 25 years.

Thanks my friend for your continuing vote of confidence. But isn’t it that one out of five photos that strike it right? The process seems to be trial and error and usually the best ones are happy mistakes. 🙂

Isn’t that the beauty of digital photography though? There is no waste of money getting to that one great shot :). You can experiment to your heart’s content until you’re satisfied.

Wonderful photo’s Dora, Spring is definitely in the air, and looking at your photo makes me feel warmer already. The snow looks pretty around Xmas time and that’s the only time I like to see it. It will be great to see the first flowers of Sping
Crocus’s and Daffodils. My favourite flowers are Forget -me-nots which we don’t see much of these days. Thanks for sharing your winter with us Dora.

Ditto Rita! I can’t wait to see the first flowers of Spring. And around here we have the Redbud trees. When they bloom they can make corridors of pink along the roadways. Beautiful. 🙂

Wow Dorann, what a gorgeous scene! Seriously I could just open that gate and walk the grounds – no matter the cold, the scene warms my senses.

Do you grow tired of hearing how beautiful your photos are? Well, I hope not, because here’s another one. I really like this one. And I’m with you, come on Redbuds!!!

Many thanks Mary! A few steps through that gate is a steep slope – kind of like the end of the world. 🙂

Oh my Dorann, then step back slowly and carefully – lol! Is this the same gate where the horse used to be.

Not the same gate Mary. You are recalling a neighbor’s horse who recently died. However, Bill and I used to have two horses who lived in the pasture beyond this very gate. Martini and Lucy lived to be in their 30’s and both have died too. We miss them both.

Ah I bet you do, that is very sad. I have an artist friend who just lost her horse that has been with her for 20 years – it’s been tough.
