Random Five Friday
Have you ever had a week you couldn’t account for? I mean where you felt like you were trying to accomplish something but not getting anywhere? That was my week.
- It started out fine with Monday errands accomplished in time to go to the gym. “A great start,” I thought as I hit 6,000 steps on the pedometer that day.
That was about it for physical movement this week.
- Tuesday the car needed mechanical attention at a dealer/shop an hour from our house. Of course, everything is an hour from our house. Due to the distance we were given an overnight loaner! “ How kind,” I thought. And the loaner was a brand new 2015 model with only 24 miles on it! Talk about a great marketing approach!
- Wednesday we waited around most of the morning for a call re the car. They finally rang at around 2:30 PM so that was a day shot. It was an hour there and an hour back in our 2006 model that feels the same as the 2015 version really. And I didn’t make it to the gym that day either.
- Thursday I was supposed to have lunch with friend, Joan, but it turned out she caught the cold that is going around town and it progressed to bronchitis. I went to the store instead and stocked up on hand sanatizers
- And here we are at Fun Friday! This morning I went on a search for skinny-er jeans since I think I am losing weight. Must be my imagination because the next size down is still impossible to pull up. But my new “diet” is a self invented approach – a restricted grain intake and not eating after 8 PM. You can bet you will hear about it if it works!
I am so envious of my blogger friends who take pictures during the week and who lead such interesting lives. With all the waiting around, I did finish a wonderful novel in preparation for book club later this month. It’s called The Widow’s War, by Sally Gunning and is now on my favorites list.
There is definitely an art to wasting time.
I never ever ever waste time. But I do lie a lot……

Gosh, it seems like I feel that way every week! I look back and wonder where the time went with seemingly so little done. It is getting worse the older I get!

We all have weeks like this my friend, and I can totally relate to everything being an hour away. Going to a mall for us means a whole day away with at least one meal eaten out, so it is never a cheap, quick trip. Next week will be better, and you will be out capturing beautiful pictures with your new camera :).

You are a true inspiration my friend. However, since we rarely veer off of the main route to town, the photo ops are rare. I need you to come back for a visit so we can all go wandering and looking for things to snap. P.S. You are mentioned in my next post!

Blahahaha! And ditto! However, I wonder why I manage to come out with the truth in these blog posts. Could it be that my good blogging friends like you are fairly invisible – like the pen pals or imaginary friends of childhood?

I’ve got the same envy of bloggers who seem to have much more interesting lives. I write a short entry each day in a Moleskine notebook and some days am really hard pressed to figure out what I even did that day. Which I find so frustrating.

We all have weeks like that and if you got some reading done the week wasn’t wasted.

Oh, that would be so much fun. We could wander around snapping pictures while our husbands roll their eyes at us LOL :).

Efficiency is a highly over-rated virtue, I feel. If I’m out of my jammies by lunch, I’m feeling quite pleased with myself.

Once again Barbara, you make me feel so “not alone.” I am in my jammies as I write this thank you.

I am coming to terms with the idea that I really have no control over life’s curve balls. 🙂

I can just picture the eye rolling. That would make a good photo to start our series. 🙂

Maybe we are more interesting than we think Nancy. I hope so! 🙂 Keep writing in that notebook. It’s a great way to stimulate ideas for blogging. I find that if I go ANYWHERE different, a story pops up. The problem is I love home, hearth and this daggone computer.

LOL!! And the last photo of the series would be them both asleep from boredom while we would still be raring to go :).

I hope your friend, Joan, is feeling better by now. My week’s been hectic as well. It seems, for the past two days, that I’m just scrambling to catch up. Now that the weekend is here, I am finally relaxing. That feels good. Enjoy your weekend, Dor. 😉

Thanks for looking back Patti! And yes, I got busier, but thanks for reminding me of the pleasures of wasting time. 🙂
