I posted about the waning summer today too. Must be the season. Hopefully we will have a long and wonderful fall.

We just took ours down just yesterday, but the table is staying…for the time-being. What a lovely view you have.

It is a lovely view Eliza and I am grateful for each day. Loving the little nip in the air and the long shadows announcing the coming of Fall. So why do I procrastinate about removing the remnants of summer?

I thought so too Patti. Just can’t make that final step. Maybe I’ll wait for the first snow storm! 🙂

You are not alone, Dor. Every year I cling shamelessly to those blissful, warm days filled with birdsong that never failed to lift my heart. How could I not?

You have some wonderful views Dora, I can’t bring myself to put away table and chairs where we have breakfast on the balcony yet ,I think maybe the end of October. Even though its been so hot here in Crete I still hang on until it turns really cold finally in November/December. Then its on with the wood burner.

Just have to ask…does a good wind ever just take it away…below?
Beautiful view! I bet you spend hours out there.

Our umbrella is still up too waiting for that last possible summer moment. Supposed to be summer-like this weekend so we’ll enjoy what may be our last hurrah. But I’m always ready for my favorite fall.

Yes, now that winter is en route, I am trying to hold it back just a little bit longer. I love the nip in the air though.

We are simply saying we love the change in seasons Cindy. Being from Fla. where it was always summer, I feel like celebrating the arrival of coolness, pumpkins and changing leaves (while hoping to leave the umbrella up just a little bit longer). Go figure. 🙂

Good question Georgette. We have had a few umbrellas fly completely over our roof into the front yard. That happened until we got a really heavy base. I can tell when it’s on the verge of going over again though, and quickly retract it. Very windy on the deck sometimes.

Yes, the views are ever changing landscapes that are really like paintings. That’s why, like you, I love to leave the outdoor furniture “out” until the last minute. We are sliding into first frosts now so it won’t be long until the last minute is really here.

I am loving the light and the shadows of Fall, the promise of exciting things to come and the cooler temps that prompt the urge to walk, to move, to feel. Still, I am reluctant to shed the trappings of summer and the urge to run barefoot through the grass.

A never-ending wish: one more day. Mitch Albom wrote a book on this theme. We’d all wish for one more day, Dora, whether it’s the weather, time off, or being able to spend more time with those we love. 😉
