Today is my birthday.
Did you know that November 5th is also Guy Fawkes Day in England?
Much like on our 4th of July,
they celebrate the day a fellow tried to blow up Parliament in 1605!
Here in Virginia Guy Fawkes Day dawned bright and clear.
It was a good way to begin another year
or maybe a good way to end another year.
In any case, I celebrated.
There were no fireworks but
I am wearing a locket that speaks of love from family
and playing with a smart phone, a gift from Bill.
I dined out for lunch with two great “girl” friends.
Calls and candy came from the grandgirls and
I munched marzipan, a gift from a special friend.
There were no fireworks and happily
I don’t feel any older than yesterday.
As the sun sets over Guy Fawkes Day, my birthday
memories will linger.
Maybe next year I will request fireworks!

We have Guy Fawkes day here in South Africa on the 5th November too. It drives me crazy, all the fireworks scares the dogs and cats terribly 😦
Happy birthday for yesterday, Dor – so sorry I am late with the birthday wishes.

Sounds like my kind of birthday — full of friends and family. You are lucky it’s in November. I was born in January. No one wants to do anything in January. What was my mother thinking anyway!

Happy Birthday! Is your birthday the force that brought an extension of the warm, sunny days in New Jersey? Thanks!

My brother has the same problem being born in Jan. I think you should both notify everyone that you are changing your birthday date to August. 🙂

Oh, I guess I figured everybody is like me. When I sing, my son runs out of the room I called and sang for his birthday (yesterday) and he said his dog tried to commit suicide.
