Wherever I go people ask,
Are you ready for Christmas yet?
And I always answer, “Not quite.”
Always one more thing to do,
one more gift to wrap,
one more cookie to bake,
one more menu to plan,
one more bed to make,
one more card to send.
Only four more days to go.
Are you ready for Christmas yet?
check, check, check…thank you for the list. Your list looks like mine. Just this morning I noticed we’re low on coffee…goodness, back to the store again after I was just there yesterday. Just wouldn’t do to not have coffee on Christmas morning.
I know. I’m making spaghetti sauce for the masses and noticed after today’s trip to the grocery store that I’m out of Parmesan cheese! Back tomorrow! Sigh.
Merry Christmas and yes I am all set I will be giving thanks for all I have no gifts to open mo hustle and bustle just a nice meal together and a walk if the weather is 30 or better
Have a wonderful time
Eunice
Actually, that’s how our Xmas Day will be too. The onslaught of kids and company comes AFTER Boxing Day.
???
Just about
Merry Christmas!
Good Girl! You are on top of things. Me? Another trip to the grocery store is in order and I still have to wrap my husband’s flannel shirt and the dog’s squeaky toy and deliver one more bag of goodies to my friend/neighbor – and – and – and ……. ?)
I’m ready! Just have to do the cooking. Merry Christmas Dor!
O.K. – don’t “rub it in” as my Dad used to say. I’m usually ahead of the game. Can I blame blogging?
No, gotta run!
Good luck! Hurry Hurry Hurry!
No! I’m not ready! So what am I doing at my laptop? Must get up and get busy! Thanks for the reminder…
Ditto coastalcrone! I’d rather be blogging!
Oh how true this is!
“Truth is stranger than fiction.”
Yep! All ready, except for 2 more gifts to wrap, well maybe 4, and the ham to cook & the rice pudding to make. Hmmm sounds just like you. Have a Happy Happy Christmas!!
You do sound like me Linda! And the odd thing is nobody’s coming until AFTER Xmas. Glad you are not cooking alligator tail or anything too exotic. Do I know the pig?
MERRY XMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU BOTH – and thanks for the beautiful card!
Dor: That question has always puzzled me. Ready for WHAT is my usual answer…Is Santa Clause coming?
You will only know if Santa comes if you truly believe!
I figure I might as well get ready and make sure he gets in o.k. and has his milk and cookies.
Yep! Merry Christmas to you ma dear!
Ditto!
Ready!!!! Just have some cleaning to do – well maybe
. That sounds a lot like work though doesn’t it? I’d much rather be blogging!!
Me too. Me too.
For the most part…YES! I don’t wrap presents any more. I put them in bags, nice colorful Christmas bags. I dont make lots of fruitcakes like I used to. Now I make triple recipes of snowballs and date squares. This year I saw a baking show and discovered how easy it is to make chocolate clusters. I use any leftover chocolate bars I have around, throw in a bag of chocolate chips…about three large chocolate bars in all. I add 1/2 cup of dried cranberries, 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts and 1/2 cup of raisins. I melt the chocolate in a stainless steel bowl over a dipper of boiling water. Then I add the other ingredients one at a time. I cover a cookie sheet with foil and drop a tablespoon of the warm mixture all over the sheet. An hour in the fridge and voila….the clusters are ready to enjoy. Very simple and delicious! I try to keep up with my housework so my little artificial tree takes but a few minutes to decorate. Keeping it simple makes for a relaxing holiday season. Merry Christmas everyone!
Oooooh! I can’t wait to try the chocolate clusters! Thanks for the recipe! And I think you have the absolute right idea about minimizing chores during this oh-so-hectic season. I’ve discovered store-bought egg nog too. Even without anything alcoholic, it somehow makes everything seem easier. So much for calories. Ha!
